Formats to discuss
Build your product specification
MAP paper trays
MAP uses a controlled gas environment inside a sealed pack. The tray, barrier, film and sealing conditions must work together.
Vacuum skin packaging trays
VSP uses a close-fitting film over the food and tray. Film compatibility, sealing area and product height are key selection points.
Selection guide
The details behind the right fit
| Selection point | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Food product | Specify product shape, moisture, fat content, weight and storage temperature. |
| Packaging system | Identify MAP or VSP, machine model, tooling and proposed top film. |
| Tray dimensions | Confirm tray depth, flange width, usable volume and load requirements. |
| Seal & barrier | Validate the complete tray-film combination on the intended equipment. |
| Shelf-life validation | Establish shelf life through product-specific testing; the tray alone cannot define it. |
Common questions
Before you order
Does MAP packaging guarantee a particular shelf life?
